Science Writer for Marine Spatial Plan Sea Change
The Hauraki Gulf, known by many as Tikapa Moana and by others as Te Moananui ā Toi, is rightly recognised as a national taonga. Mana whenua, central and local government, local communities and interest groups have all been working together to create Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari, a marine spatial plan designed to safeguard this treasure.
In this role, Dr Mal Green was responsible for science input to the writing of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Science Plan (Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari). This plan is about securing the Hauraki Gulf as a healthy, productive and sustainable resource for all users, now and in the future.
