RMA Decision Making
Drs Cooke, Phillips, Stewart and Green are accredited RMA Commissioners and have variously sat on hearing panels as independent commissioners deciding a range of freshwater and coastal environmental matters.
Our combined experience includes decision making on resource consents (coastal dredging; operation of marina; mangrove removal; discharge consents for meatworks, coal mining, dairy plant, dairy farms; take and use of water; wastewater discharge; quarry operations; river recharge with groundwater), a water conservation order (Special Tribunal for the Ngaruroro and Clive Rivers, Hawkes Bay), and a plan change.
Dr Cooke also holds an RMA Chair certification, and Dr Phillips is an appointed member of the HSNO Committee, which makes decisions under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act.
With long experience in New Zealand science and environmental issues, good understanding of the purpose and mechanics of the Resource Management Act, and demonstrated commitment to proper process and objectivity, Streamlined Environmental’s staff are well equipped to act as wise and confident independent decision makers.
